Darkman
While extremely bored I chose a movie at random and decided I would watch it no matter what it was. That didn't happen. 5 random picks later and I found one that actually sounded slightly decent, though a bit weird. This movie was Darkman.
Darkman is the story of a scientist who is trying to create, for whatever reason, synthetic skin, though he is unable to fully perfect the formula/process because all the skin he creates disintegrates after 100 minutes in the light. His girlfriend happens to have some important document stating that some high-up villain fellow had been issuing payoffs and the paper happens to be in the lab of the scientist guy. So they go in there and beat the crap out of him and destroy the lab by burning it to the ground. They think they killed him... but he wasn't dead. He wakes up with extremely bad burns in the hospital, so bad that he is a "John Doe" they do not know who he is (FAKE!) they have cut off the nerves in his body that allow him to feel pain, so he can not feel any pain. He manages to escape from the hospital and salvage some things from his lab where he tries to recreate his face with synthetic skin but can only do it for 100 minutes at a time... while at the same time recreating other peoples faces to get revenge and play tricks and crap.
It's a typical movie similar to say Spider-Man or something, just older and lesser known. It's certainly not bad but it has some major plot holes. The biggest one being the 100 minutes. Some of the things this guy manages to do in 100 minutes are seriously amazing. In real life 100 minutes is hardly any time at all, by the time you drive where you want to go the 100 minutes would be over - but he manages to perfectly time every action and get everywhere fast enough to do all these crazy things in exactly 100 minutes....
Anyways, there is more to it than that, and it's not a bad film, but it is old, and slightly outdated. Every once in awhile I find it amusing to watch a older film like this. And it just so happens there is a Darkman 2. (AND DARKMAN 3?!?!) But I'll probably be watching them later rather than sooner.
Rating:
Certainly an interesting movie....
